Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to help everyone find their favourite watch.

Dawson Watches began as a traditional watch retailer. Over time, we realised that a physical store could only serve a limited number of customers and offer a limited selection. If we genuinely wanted to help more people find the right watch, we needed to move online and make our collection accessible across Australia.

How We Came to This Mission

The idea grew from our own experience of trying to find watches we genuinely wanted to wear.

More than 25 years ago, the range available locally was limited. Traditional retailers often carried similar brands and styles, while many of the different watches we discovered overseas were difficult to find in Australia. In some cases, only copies were available locally—not the genuine watches we wanted.

No two people are the same—and neither are the watches they love.

Some people want a bold watch that stands out. Others prefer something simple and timeless. Some love the feel of leather, while others choose metal, rubber or plastic. From colours and shapes to sizes, materials and straps, the smallest detail can make a watch feel completely different.

With almost 28 million people across Australia, there are millions of individual styles, tastes and stories. A limited range could never offer the right choice for everyone.

That belief shaped our mission. We wanted to search further, work harder and bring together a wider variety of authentic watches—so more Australians could experience that special moment when they find a watch that feels just right.

Why We Sell Online

Selling online allows us to offer more choice and serve customers across Australia.

However, selling online also presents challenges. Many watch brands reserve authorised-dealer status for traditional physical retailers. As an online retailer, we cannot always purchase through a brand’s authorised distribution network or provide its manufacturer warranty.

We accept this challenge because reaching more people is essential to our mission. We source genuine watches through reputable wholesalers, distributors, authorised dealers and trusted resellers. Every watch we sell is guaranteed to be authentic and is supported by our one-year Dawson Watches warranty.
